Goa Carbon has shared an operational update on October 3, 2026, and the key line is simple — a kiln has been lit up today after months of pause.
At first it sounds like a routine restart, but this particular unit has been on the watchlist since last year, and its return changes the production map for the company.
Which Unit Is Back
The company has informed exchanges that operations at its Bilaspur Unit located at 34-40, Sector B, Sirgitti Industrial Area, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has resumed.
This is further to its earlier letter dated June 23, 2025, when the unit's operations were stopped. Now, as of October 3, 2026, the kiln has been lit up.
According to the filing, after preliminary heat up and commencement of feeding of raw material, normal production shall resume shortly. The intimation was signed by Company Secretary Pravin Satardekar.
Why This Restart Matters
Goa Carbon is in calcined petroleum coke business, a key raw material for aluminium and steel industries. Any shutdown of a calcination plant impacts total available capacity.
Bilaspur is one of its strategic plants in central India, close to raw material and customer belt. Resumption means additional volumes can come back into the system after the heat-up cycle completes.
For investors tracking operational updates, kiln lighting is the first technical milestone — feeding and stable production usually follow within days if heat-up goes as planned.
Conclusion
Goa Carbon Limited has resumed operations at its Bilaspur Unit in Chhattisgarh on October 3, 2026. The kiln has been lit up today and normal production will resume shortly after heat-up and raw material feeding. The update is in continuation of its June 23, 2025 communication regarding the same unit.
