First Project At MTRN

One work is provision of technical and test facilities at MTRN on EPC mode. EPC refers to Engineering, Procurement and Construction where contractor handles design, material and execution. The nature of work is prefabricated vertical drains construction covering supply, supervision and installation.

The amount for this MTRN package is Rs 7,69,91,694 exclusive GST. The scope includes driving PVD to required depth through mandrel system and maintaining vertical alignment as per design.

Second Project At Dharamtar Creek

Other work is construction of four lane bridge across Dharamtar Creek Project. Dharamtar Creek lies in Raigad district of Maharashtra and connects industrial areas near Dolvi and Pen. The creek crossing requires approach embankments and retaining structures due to soft marine deposits.

The nature of work is RE Wall construction covering supply, supervision, casting and installation of panel and design, along with supply of ground improvement material. The amount for this creek bridge package is Rs 2,41,40,072 exclusive GST.

Statements Present In Filing

The filing states that the company has received work orders from Afcons Infrastructure Limited marking beginning of a new association. It states this establishes a new relationship and provides opportunity to build long-term association with a reputed infrastructure player.

The document includes management view about demonstrating technical capabilities, quality of execution and project management expertise. It includes belief that successful execution will help strengthen relationship and create opportunities for participation in future projects and larger assignments, along with commitment to execute within stipulated timelines and to standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Understanding PVD Construction In Detail

Prefabricated vertical drains are installed in soft cohesive soils to shorten drainage path for consolidation. The drain consists of a plastic core with longitudinal channels wrapped in non-woven filter fabric that allows water entry while preventing soil intrusion.

Water from surrounding clay flows into filter and moves vertically to a horizontal drainage blanket or sand layer placed at surface. This accelerates dissipation of pore water pressure that otherwise takes long time under surcharge loading. The method is commonly used in port areas, test facilities, embankments on reclaimed land and industrial yards.

Supply includes procurement of PVD rolls and ancillary material as per specification. Supervision includes checking layout marking, depth records, splice details and installation logs. Installation includes pushing mandrel with PVD to design depth, anchoring at bottom, withdrawing mandrel and cutting PVD at surface level with adequate projection.

Understanding RE Wall Construction In Detail

RE Wall refers to reinforced earth wall that combines precast concrete panels with reinforcement elements placed in compacted granular fill. The facing panels provide aesthetic and protective function while reinforcement resists tensile forces generated by retained soil.

Reinforcement can be metallic strips or polymeric geogrids connected to panels through connectors. Compacted fill is placed in layers and reinforcement is laid at designated elevations, creating composite mass that behaves as gravity structure. The system reduces land acquisition compared to sloped embankments and allows faster construction than conventional RCC retaining walls.

Casting involves concrete pouring in steel moulds with controlled curing to achieve panel dimensions and strength. Installation involves setting panels in sequence, aligning vertically and horizontally, connecting reinforcement and compacting backfill. Design involves checking external stability against sliding and overturning, internal stability against reinforcement rupture and pullout, and settlement analysis for foundation soil.

Ground improvement material supplied under this work enhances bearing capacity and reduces settlement beneath wall foundation. The material can include granular replacement, geosynthetics or other approved ground treatment elements as per bridge approach requirements.
