Hindusthan Insulators & Industries has announced its Q2 and H1 FY27 results on October 3, 2026, and the numbers show a sharp turnaround from last year's loss — but the bigger story is happening in the boardroom.
The company, formerly Hindusthan Urban Infrastructure, approved unaudited results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026. At first look revenue has more than doubled and profit is back, yet the board also pushed through leadership and capital changes that hint at next-phase expansion.
Q2 Numbers Show Strong Rebound
Revenue from operations for Q2 FY27 stood at Rs 17,206.37 lakhs versus Rs 6,968.21 lakhs in Q2 FY26 — up about 147% year-on-year. Total income including other income was Rs 17,551.41 lakhs versus Rs 7,183.83 lakhs last year.
Profit before exceptional items and tax was Rs 7,401.08 lakhs in Q2 FY27 compared to just Rs 383.71 lakhs in Q2 FY26. Net profit for the quarter was Rs 5,536.71 lakhs, a complete reversal from a loss of Rs 4,330.03 lakhs in the same quarter last year, which had included an exceptional loss on sale of subsidiary Hindusthan Speciality Chemicals.
H1 paints the same picture. H1 FY27 revenue from operations is Rs 28,808.03 lakhs versus Rs 13,418.33 lakhs last year. H1 net profit is Rs 9,198.87 lakhs versus a loss of Rs 4,347.89 lakhs in H1 FY26.
Where Growth Is Coming From
The segment breakup explains the jump. High Tension Insulators contributed Rs 17,028.41 lakhs out of Rs 17,207.16 lakhs total segment revenue in Q2, versus Rs 6,783.49 lakhs last year. Real estate was just Rs 177.98 lakhs.
Segment results for High Tension Insulators were Rs 7,377.32 lakhs in Q2 versus Rs 525.32 lakhs last year. This segment drove almost all profit.
Earnings per share adjusted for recent corporate actions reflects the turnaround. Q2 FY27 basic EPS is Rs 25.58 versus negative Rs 20.01 in Q2 FY26. H1 EPS is Rs 42.50 versus negative Rs 20.09 last year. Note that on July 13, 2026 the company issued bonus shares in 2:1 ratio, and earlier on March 14, 2026 it had split face value from Rs 10 to Rs 2, so all EPS figures have been restated retrospectively.
Beyond Numbers — Boardroom And Capital Moves
This is where the filing gets more interesting than just results.
Chief Financial Officer Shailendra Jhalani resigned from CFO role with effect from October 3, 2026, not to exit but to be elevated. He has been appointed as Whole-time Director designated as Deputy Managing Director for three years from October 4, 2026 to October 3, 2029. He has over 27 years experience and heads commercial, marketing and production of the Insulators & Electricals Company unit, and is a Chartered Accountant from SRCC, Delhi University.
Alongside, Mool Chand Gauba has been appointed as Additional Director in category of Non-Executive Independent Director and will serve a first term of five years from October 3, 2026 to October 2, 2031. He is a CAIIB qualified banker with wide experience in banking and corporate finance.
The board also approved increasing authorised share capital from Rs 108.50 crore to Rs 121 crore, with equity share capital increasing from 5.5 crore shares of Rs 2 to 11.75 crore shares of Rs 2, plus preference capital. This signals headroom for future fundraising or bonus issues.
The company also said it is evaluating strengthening operations of its Conductor Unit-Gwalior to optimize utilization and leverage emerging opportunities in conductor segment.
